Nursery Finance and Administration Officer – UECS

Set in the peaceful surroundings of Wivenhoe Park on our Colchester Campus, our Outstanding Day Nursery offers high quality day care to children from 3 months to 5 years and a school holiday club for children up to the age of 8 years. We serve the local community, University staff and students.
We are currently recruiting an experienced Finance and Administrative Officer to join our friendly and diverse senior team at the Day Nursery. This is a permanent and full-time position; 38 hours per week. We will consider a job share arrangement for this position should we identify two suitable candidates requesting a job share.
We are looking for candidates that have previous experience in managing a busy reception, working ‘front of house’ with an approachable and willing disposition.
Candidates should be well organised and able to establish and work within computer systems with a high level of competency. Those with previous experience of working within educational environments will be at an advantage.
We are looking for an individual that has the skills, knowledge and experience to inspire and support our team so that we can continue to provide an outstanding service to all of our families.

Skills and qualifications required
- You should have experience of managing finances and administration processes and have previous experience of working within a customer focussed setting
- Sound knowledge of the local authorities Early Years funding processes would be desirable although not essential as training will be given
- Excellent communication skills and able to work effectively in a team
- Ability to Record, update and maintain all financial data relating to customers of the Day Nursery, to include preparing all invoices and processing payments
Due to the nature of this role, you will need to fulfil the requirements of an Enhanced DBS check.
