Join the celebrations for the World Book Day!

On Thursday 4 March is World Book Day, we will be joining in the celebrations!

World book day is a charity event that is celebrated in over 100 countries across the world. Here at nursery, we are committed to children developing a life-long love of reading and read to children in the nursery every day with books, props and puppets of all shapes and sizes!

We also have a collection of books to borrow, so please ask if you would like to borrow a book.

Did you know:

Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator for success in life, more than family circumstances, educational background, or income (Organisation for Economic Co-operation & Development).

Sharing stories together for just ten minutes a day will encourage a love of reading and it can be fun for everyone! You can read together anywhere and everywhere, from breakfast to bedtime!

All of our nursery rooms have planned extra special stories and activities to celebrate this event throughout the week. So if your child doesn’t attend on a Thursday, they won’t miss out! We want you to feel free to bring your child along dressed as their favourite story book character. Please don’t panic about outfits though; the focus on the reading is always what matters most.

We will be handing out the Books for £1 vouchers with details about how to claim your child’s book. Below are some of the examples of books on offer for you.

If you don’t get a voucher, you can clink on this link and download one here.
